CTE
Welcome to Curie Metro Career and Technical Education Academy!
Curie High School's Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs feature a unique, proven approach to preparing students for college and career success. Utilizing state of the art labs, students are engaged in industry-focused instruction that supplements the Chicago Public Schools college prep core curriculum. Students receive real-world training and are exposed to work-based learning such as soft skills, job shadows, and internships as well as opportunities to gain industry-recognized certifications, scholarships, and college credits. Each senior major participates in an annual CTE Capstone Fair where they meet and network with industry professionals. During their three-years in the program, college and career readiness along with academic achievement is emphasized as they work with teachers, mentors, and counselors who specialize in each major. You can learn more about each pathway offered at Curie by clicking on the pathway below or by visiting ChooseYourFuture.CPS.edu.
Students must apply, select from the 9 pathways, and be accepted into a CTE academy program prior to their freshmen year of high school. CTE Academy coursework begins during sophomore year and continues with coursework specific to a chosen major over the final three years in high school. The application process is very competitive and requires a 4-year commitment. Once a student is accepted into the program, they are expected to honor their commitment and complete all major requirements. To apply to one of our programs, visit Go.CPS.edu.
