About Me
I am an Afro-Latina first-generation graduate. I was born in Central America, specifically Honduras, and migrated to the USA at the age of 8. Being the first in my family to achieve certain milestones has instilled in me a deep appreciation for education and the transformative power it holds. I have a 6-year-old child and a dog. I believe in the power of self-advocacy and respect that we fight ignorance with education, which is why I became a teacher and have continued to be one for the last 13 years of my life. I have a wonderful adoptive family who has taught me the power of community and love.
