About Mr. Scott Elgazar
Early Life
I grew up in Skokie, Illinois, which is about 30 min north of downtown Chicago. I became interested in chemistry and how it relates to food. I utilize some knowledge that I learned from majoring in food science into the classroom to help teach chemistry.
Education
I graduated from University of Illinois and Urbana-Champaign with a major in food science and minor in chemistry. After working in product development for about 3 years (creating beverages using flavors and various ingredients), I found that I had wanted to do something a bit more engaging and fulfilling, so I changed careers to become a teacher.
Hobbies
I enjoy cooking, bike riding, hiking, spending time outdoors, chess, and baseball.
