About Ms. Young
My name is Abronia S. Young, and I am an MAFM, MBA, and MSEd. My story is one of resilience and lifelong learning. Growing up in Englewood, Chicago, I faced my fair share of challenges. But despite those struggles, I found my passion for accounting at Lindblom Technical High School.
With the love and support of my daughter, I made a significant career change after spending 14 years in the utilities industry. Transitioning into education was a calling I couldn't ignore. Now, at Curie High School, I'm not just an accounting teacher—I'm also deeply involved with the Black Student Union and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Advocating for educational equity is a cause close to my heart, and I'm committed to providing opportunities for all students.
In my district, I'm proud to be the only Dual-Credit accounting teacher. Offering Dual-Credit Business classes allows students to earn college credits while still in high school, a valuable opportunity for their future.
