About Me

As a teacher at Curie for nearly a decade, my journey has been a fusion of passion and dedication. Armed with my middle school endorsement, I've traversed through various realms of education, from English to AVID, and MYP. My academic journey mirrors my loyalty to the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where I obtained my Bachelor's in Teaching of English, followed by a Master's in Instructional Leadership, and now pursuing a PhD in LLC. Beyond academics, my heart beats to the rhythm of the performing arts. With over 13 years of immersion in Latin dance and a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, movement is not just a hobby, but a way of life. It's this love for movement and culture that led me to establish and nurture Latinos Juntos, Curie's vibrant Latin dance team and after-school program. From its inception in 2015 to its recognition as an After School Matters program in 2018, it's been a journey of growth, rhythm, and community. As we approach our milestone 10th anniversary next year, I can't help but reflect on the countless steps we've taken, both on and off the dance floor, shaping lives and fostering unity.
